Bipolar Disorder
Bipolar disorder also known as manic depressive illness is a mood disorder in which people experience alternating mood swings of mania and depression. According to the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), bipolar disorder affects more than 5.7 million adults in the United States each year. Approximately 3% of people in the United States are affected .The age of onset is usually the late teens or early 20’s and there is a history of depression in most cases. Men and women are affected in equal numbers. Women's first episode is typically manic, while men typically experience a depressive episode first. Those in manic state may have increased activity or energy, more thoughts and faster thinking, grandiose thoughts, decreased sleep and need for sleep, increased sexual activity, elated mood, irritable mood, as well as other symptoms. But there is a treatmen for this illness so it can be control.

I dealt with and married someone bipolar. It is a lot of work. BUT you need to work with them if you love them.
